The Cost of Easter
by Bob Brooke
Our Walmart newspaper advertisment insert last week said, Easter Costs Less at Walmart. Did you see it? If so, did you think about its message? Well, I haven't been able to put it out of my mind. I'm pretty certain that it can preach, teach or even start a discussion.
How much did Easter cost our God and Savior, Jesus Christ? How much does Easter cost us? Are you looking for a better deal?

| I think it's sacrilegious. Don't they go to, or at least respect church? "We assume you know" It goes to show... We obey mammon... Through rain and snow... So gain your gold... "And consider it sold" by David Weller | |
| Thank You for this post... You have provided a theme for my sunrise service message! (Pastor has family visiting...) by Jim Clevenger | |
| Argh!!!!! I never like the idea that the Easter Bunny (where did he come from???) gives candy, and eve "Easter presents". Double argh!!!by John Welch | |
| Not to mention those stupid, big, floppy ears.....and the fact that somehow this rabbit lays eggs? Yheee Gads!!! by Bill Chadwick | |
Easter cost Jesus His Life ... the incalculable gift of God's love. And all our trips to Walmart to somehow make "Easter cost less" will never change the truth: "God proves His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Rom. 5:8) | |
| John, Such is the plight of the Walmart generation, and all of the generations of man that have preceeded us. " For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." (1 Cor. 1:18) by Bob Brooke | |
| "When Jesus knew that His hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father ... and that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God ... He rose from supper, laid aside His garments ... and began to wash the disciples feet ... then He taught them, saying, 'a servant is not greater than his master' ..." (John 13) by Bob Brooke |
