Awesome ACV Treatments

If you have problems with blemishes on your skin one helpful factor to consider is that you can use apple cider vinegar for acne and other skin conditions. Raw apple cider vinegar is made from organic apples and goes through a double fermentation process. During this process, enzymes and other nutrients are preserved and work together to bring out therapeutic properties.

Here are just a few amazing nutritional facts about this fermented drink:

  • Apple cider vinegar contains potassium that helps keep teeth strong, prevents hair loss and remedies a runny nose.
  • Apple cider vinegar contains pectin that keep blood pressure regular and can reduce “bad’ cholesterol.
  • Apple cider vinegar contains malic acid which makes it a good defense against viruses, bacteria and fungus.
  • Apple cider vinegar contains calcium which helps keep our teeth and bones strong and healthy.
  • Apple cider vinegar contains ash which normalizes your body’s pH and maintains a healthy alkaline state.
  • Apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid what reduces the speed at which sugar enters the blood after a meal.
  • Apple cider vinegar contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C and E

Apple cider vinegar is equally as effective when taken internally as when it is applied to the skin externally. In fact, many people use apple cider vinegar as part of their daily beauty regime. It is a cost effective, 100% natural and organic way to keep your skin feeling fresh and supple.

Cooking Rice for Dinner

Trying to think of something good for dinner tonight? Maybe by reading these rice cooker reviews, you will be able to come up with something delicious.

Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker and Warmer

This pricey option took the longest of all the machines to prepare brown rice, but it produced consistently excellent white, brown, and sushi rice. The “fuzzy logic” technology supposedly adjusts time and temperature settings as needed during cooking, and its extensive menu includes settings for “harder” or “softer” rice as well as “quick cooking” (though the rice will be slightly firmer). Its timer and water line markings are clear and the removable inner lid is easy to clean.

Oster 6-Cup Rice Cooker

For a cheap, one-button machine, this model produced impressive white and sushi rice, though brown rice was a tad dry. Its lift-off lid maintained a tight seal, so rice cooked quickly. It lacks a timer but makes an audible click as it switches to keep-warm mode.

Hamilton Beach Digital Simplicity Deluxe Rice Cooker/Steamer

While this cooker was intuitive, large quantities of rice were unevenly cooked—soggy in some sections, chewy and dry in others—and the quality of the rice further deteriorated as it sat in keep-warm mode. It makes a minimum of 2 cups uncooked (about 4 cups cooked) rice, which is often more than we want to make. Starchy water became trapped under the plastic gasket in the lid and made it difficult to dry properly.

Most people are not aware that you can use apple cider vinegar for dandruff. It has been proven to work very effectively. Apple cider vinegar has been used for centuries for a variety of uses, from preserving foods to treating many medical maladies. Since ACV is a great anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial aid, it’s a perfect tool for not only treating the agony associated with dandruff, but in treating the excess bacteria and yeast-like fungus that make dandruff reoccur as well.

Since apple cider vinegar doesn’t contain harsh chemicals and specifically targets the cause of dandruff, many victims of dandruff find quick and effective relief using ACV in their daily hygiene. As you use an apple cider vinegar cure for dandruff, you can see positive results within a few days to a week of use, depending on how severe your symptoms are and how you are using ACV to treat your itchy scalp. For the best results, you should use an undiluted version of apple cider vinegar and avoid using non-organic varieties.

Apple cider vinegar can be used alone to treat dandruff, or can be used with other natural and traditional remedies to fully treat dandruff the most effectively. How apple cider vinegar for dandruff should be administered depends on the individual using it and how severe their dandruff symptoms are. For mild dandruff, a weekly rinse of equal parts cool water and apple cider vinegar massaged into the scalp should help manage the overly oily skin and keep nasty bacteria and skin flaking at bay.

Leggings with Style

Finding the “right” leggings is almost as difficult as finding the right bra or swimsuit or pair of jeans! The price of my favorite leggings shot up to $29.95 since the last time I bought them, so this time I bought four different kinds to test. Herein, I shall review all five options. As a point of reference, I am 5’7″ and weight 137 pounds. Black leggings are a staple in my wardrobe; I wear them all the time.

  1. Athletica “City Lights”

Hands down, my favorites. Length, cut, and fit are all absolutely perfect. But as of this writing, the price is $29.95 for a pair. Leggings just shouldn’t cost $30!

  1. Moontree “Cotton Spandex Jersey Legging”

The length is good. The waist is in the right place. The cut is good. But something about these leggings makes me feel like “this is what wearing Spanx must feel like”. They are snug, but not in a way that makes me feel like I’m wearing the wrong size. It feels like the snugness is part of the design, like in control-top pantyhose. (Remember those?)

Only the snugness is in the entire pair of leggings, calf to waist. They look great, but frankly they are almost a relief to peel off at the end of the day.

My job works against me by making me fat

My job works against me by making me fat

My job works against me by making me fat

I work as a software engineer. I hate my job. No, it’s not because of my boss and no it’s not because the pay is not good. It is not because of the many reasons why most people hate their job. I hate my job because it makes me fat.

Do not laugh. This is a serious problem for me. My job is a prison whose sole purpose is to make me morbidly fat.

Now, when I say that I hate my job, I do not mean that everything about my job is bad. Actually, many of the things in my job are quite good and that is why I cannot contemplate leaving my job. Number one, I love being a software engineer and I am very good at it. Since I am very good, I also get a very good salary. But as I will explain, this tends to work against me.

Since I am very good in my job, I have risen to a managerial position. In my kind of work, being a manager means that you do not have to do much of the donkey work. I only deal with the escalated tough issues which I deal with quite fast since as I said… I am quite good at my job. But again this works against me.

The biggest blow that my employment deals me however is the company cafeteria that is situated on the lower floor right below my office. The cafeteria is notorious for frying very aromatic foods and baking pastries whose sweet tantalizing scent is pure torture for me upstairs.

Being that I am often not very busy and my mind is thus not always fully engaged in my work, I often find myself envisaging myself munching on the delicacies below. When this happens, my whole body acts up against me. My belly rumbles like a famished elephant and my mouth salivates endlessly. At such times, I cannot focus my mind on anything else but the food cooking below. Eventually I have to order.

The cafeteria has excellent cooks who cook excellent food. Subsequently, their prices are also quite pricey. Fortunately or unfortunately, I have a job that pays me very well and the prices are affordable. For a manager such as myself, ordering for anything from the cafeteria only requires a phone call and the food is delivered right to my office. I do not have to even leave my office!

This is why I hate my job. No matter how much I would want to have a trim body, my working environment is always working against me. I have tried taking all kinds of recommended solutions to help me with my weight gain to no avail. I have tried taking white tea instead of coffee but still my intake of loads of bad calories could not be subdued.

I have tried taking food supplements that help in weight loss by diminishing appetite, but I guess my appetite defies all odds. Exercising is something that I hate and would want to avoid at all costs but I guess I have to succumb and join a gym. Or maybe I need to another job elsewhere.

Duties and roles that are played in the management of a home

Duties and roles that are played in the management of a home

Duties and roles that are played in the management of a home

Managing the home or housekeeping is not as easy as it may sound. Depending on the type of home, the responsibilities can be quite complex. Managing a one room house is definitely not the same as managing a mansion with over ten rooms. Unless it is in the home is of a single man, the task of managing the house usually goes to the woman of the house, the wife or the mother. Although any person can help in the duties, usually the wife is the official manager of the home. Women are naturally gifted in this area and have the skills to maintain a home in ship-shape conditions.

Before acquiring a house, the first thing that one has to consider is the number of people the house is going to house. This will then guide you to knowing how many bedrooms you need in the house. You also need to consider the furniture and items that will be going into the house. For example, if you own lots of kitchen appliances and a huge fridge and/or freezer, you will definitely need to get a house with a big kitchen.

When you have acquired your home and you have settled, then the job of managing the home can officially start. There are many activities that need to be done in housekeeping.

Chief among the activities that are necessary in the house is cooking, or providing food. This makes the kitchen a very important room. The kitchen is actually a factory since in here, raw materials go in and come out processed as edible food. Again, unless it is in the home of a single man, the responsibilities and authority of the kitchen usually go to the wife or mother of the home. The wife is supposed to plan what foods to buy, what she will cook, what time to cook, and what to throw away.

Today the woman of the house has to know more than just what she will cook but she also needs to carefully choose the food according to its health benefits. She has to know the needs of each person in the house and provide food that is nutritionally beneficial for them. She has to know when they are to be fed and what quantities each person in the house will need.

After the food is prepared it has to be served. Serving food is also an activity that can be complex in terms of the utensils to be used, how to serve the food, the quantities to be served, and the time to serve each type of food. After serving the food, the dishes have to be washed. Dishwashing is an activity that can be shared among the people in the house.

Apart from cleaning the dishes, the entire house also needs frequent cleaning to maintain it in a desirable condition. Vacuuming or cleaning of the floors has to be done often, same as dusting. Clothes and other household clothing such as beddings, curtains, carpets, etc. also have to be cleaned regularly. Many times families hire external people to provide cleaning and sanitation services.

These are just some of the basic things that have to be done to ensure that a home is a home.
